We Can Do It!

"I want to be commissioner in order to help us discern what is most beneficial for the city. I will do everything in my power to help our city grow in a positive direction, using my professional insight to serve as your City Commissioner." - Angela Cobb

My Goals As City Commissioner

Building a Stronger Cocoa Beach, Together

We love this city, and we want to keep it the small, family-driven, resort-style beach town we all know and love. Here's what we're focused on as your next Cocoa Beach City Commissioner.

1. Enforcing Ordinances

We believe in enforcing the ordinances already on our books to maintain a safe and pleasant environment for residents and visitors alike. We need our visitors, but our residents deserve a healthy balance that supports economic growth. Cracking down on issues like littering is a small step with a big impact. Protect and serve should remain the guiding focus of city management.

2. Providing Visitor Information

We want to give visitors better information about our city, beach rules, beach etiquette, and the dangers of the ocean. While we're against adding more signage to the beach, our goal is to find more effective ways to communicate this important information — keeping everyone safer without cluttering our shoreline.

3. Creating More City Revenue and Financial Responsibility

We're committed to finding creative ways to bring more revenue into Cocoa Beach while continuing to reduce city debt through greater financial responsibility.

The proposed housing tax act on the 2026 ballot could bring difficult days to Cocoa Beach. Housing tax makes up roughly one-third of the city's revenue, helping fund our police, our firefighters, and essential repairs throughout the city. We don't believe the city should be run like a business — its job is to serve the community, not compete against it.

Unless residents vote this act down, the city may be forced to cut departments and turn to mega corporations to fill the revenue gap. Our goal is to identify new sources of income that don't put our small, family-driven beach town at risk.

Keep Cocoa Beach, Cocoa Beach.

4. Beautifying the City

We want to reduce trash on the beach and throughout the city by enforcing ordinances and increasing trash management during big weekend events. We're also committed to beautifying our city's infrastructure by repairing and updating what we already have, rather than starting new projects we can't afford. Let's make the most of what we have — for our residents and our visitors alike.

5. Keeping All First Responders Fully Funded

Properly funding our lifeguards, firefighters, and police is essential to a beach town like ours. With the number of emergencies we see, especially in the ocean, this is not something we can afford to ignore. Cutting any one of these departments is asking for disaster. Our residents and visitors deserve to be protected, and our first responders deserve fair salaries for the work they do.

Experience

I started lifeguarding as a teenager in high school and kept it up through college. I later worked as a swim instructor and lifeguard for the U.S. Navy in Yokosuka, Japan. After moving to Florida, I began racing for Wild Side Online, which became one of my long-time running sponsors. I've also worked various service industry jobs, including as a beach attendant at beach rentals. Eventually I started my own race organization company, Underground Runners, Inc., and put on three races of my own. Along the way, I've coached parkour at Tumbleweeds Gymnastics and trained clients at Orange Theory Fitness, and worked as a surfing instructor and kayak tour guide. Today, I own and operate Space Coast Beach Rentals, LLC (Coconuts on the Beach) and work as a real estate agent with Coconut Properties Florida Real Estate, Inc., Realty Space Coast.
